PTAC Expectations

Thank you for your interest in the Pine Tree Admission Consortium’s (PTAC) spring tour.

After 25-years of successfully providing the Pine Tree Admission Counselor tour, we have found that tour participants appreciate knowing in advance what is expected of them. Therefore we have provided a “PTAC Expectations” sheet for our guests. The last page has the full agenda with dates and times for each college visit as well as receptions and the Inn at Peaks Island Lobster Bake!

I. Registration and Fees
Participation in the Tour is on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. There is a limited amount of space on this tour (25 spots) available. As such, there is a priority deposit deadline of December 1st. You must register online and then submit your $100 deposit and/or $350 single room fee. Click here:

If you have been selected and submitted your deposit/ single room fee but are unable to participate in the tour, please notify Tour organizers as early as possible. Historically, there has been a waiting list to attend this tour. No refunds will be issued for withdrawal from the Tour after March 1st.

II. Arrival and Departure
Tour participants are responsible for their own travel to and from the Portland Regency hotel. We do not cover this expense. For air-travel, we suggest the Portland International Jetport. For land-travel, we suggest Concord Coach Lines or the Amtrak Downeaster.

Accomodations will be all week at The Portland Regency Hotel (
Check-in on Sunday, April 24th no later than 3:00PM.
Check-out on Thursday, April 28th by 3:30pm.

III. Full Participation
Full participation is expected and includes the registration, tours, receptions and dinner at Peaks. You must ride the bus to and from all campus visits; stay at the Portland Regency Hotel and keep and open mind. If you have special dietary needs, please list them on your registration form.

Members of the Pine Tree Admission Consortium put a great deal of effort into organizing your visit to their campus. We ask that you help us keep to our schedule by being on time for the bus departures. This is especially important first thing in the morning.

IV. Campus Tours/ Visits
You will be given each school’s promotional materials and a booklet with fact sheets at Orientation. The PTAC schools have agreed not to distribute other literature to you during the tour and to limit handouts to agendas, campus maps, and rosters of your students in attendance. Following the Tour, each college is free to send you additional publications.
